OnePlus 2 engineer test unit appears in OnePlus' contest teaser
The OnePlus 2 made its first appearance today on OnePlus' Facebook page. More on that later. First, OnePlus is running a contest that will not only send the winner to its Hong Kong headquarters, it will also give the winner a "pivital role" in a secret project planned for the OnePlus 2. To enter, send an unedited and non-filtered photo that you've snapped to the company's Instagram account by using the @oneplustech tag. The caption should include info on what settings you used including the lighting. OnePlus will pick 10 candidates based on votes and "technical ability." The winner will be selected by the public. Submissions must be made by June 15th and you will need a public Instagram account to enter.

While promoting the contest on Facebook, the company produced a teaser that shows a OnePlus 2 engineer test unit. Because the phone is being held in landscape, we really can't see anything except for the screen. The display appears to be large and covers much of the front of the device. Of course, since this is a test unit, it doesn't necessarily reflect the final look of the handset.

We should see the OnePlus 2 unveiled some time during the third quarter. Co-founder Carl Pei says that while the company will resort once again to using the dreaded invitation system initially, a lot more of them will be sent out this time around. Last year when the OnePlus One launched, the number of invitations was extremely limited.

Thanks for the tip!
