Motorola DROID X 2 coming to Verizon on May 19th, in stores on the 26th

The leaked documents state that the Motorola DROID X 2 will deliver a 26% sharper screen with qHD 960x540 resolution and will have dual-layer anti-reflective coating, 1080p mirror mode when using the HDMI output to a HDTV, and the 8MP camera will shoot 44% faster thanks to continuous auto focus - though video recording is still at 720p.
Missing is any mention of the price, or if the DROID X 2 will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, though most have speculated it will be under $199 on-contract and that Gingerbread will be included - as the original DROID X is about to receive its over the air update to Android 2.3.

I like the power the x had.. but i hated how bulky the phone itself was. this is going to be no different. GREAT PHONE... lacking the LTE but sorry the case is kind of a deal breaker.

Definitely a refresh of the original Droid X. I wonder how many owners of the original Droid X will be upgrading to the X2? I won't. There isn't anything in the X2 that would compel me to lock in for a 2 year contract. The re-freshed feature set is priced too high for month-to-month service for me to be interested. It may be time to move on from VZW.

I like the original X, not too big at all, just didn't like the camera hump at first, but it makes it easier to pull the phone out of my pocket. People complain about this phone being bulky, when it's slightly longer than the Galaxy S phones. 4.3" Screen is the largest you should need on a phone, well it could go a bit larger but no bigger than the X's dimensions.
I still think this akin to the iPhone rehashes 3G to 3GS, they will phase out the original X soon and just sell the X^2. I find the X^2 to be a little lacking, where is the front facing camera on this thing, why wasn't there a little bit of a redesign of the casing. There are some wasteful ends that could have been trimmed down a bit, or increased the vertical screen space. Wasted real estate on the front of this phone(but I guess power consumption might be a factor). Also the SD card should be hot swappable, who comes up with these ideas for SD card placement on these phones? I find the Droid Inc a much better 2nd outing from HTC than this phone. 4G LTE isn't needed as Motorola already has a couple of 4G phone coming to Verizon and the if the X^2 was LTE it would steal those phones' thunder. Should have been a world phone with front facing cam and dual core processor so it can stand on it's own as a top of the line but non 4G phone.

by bulky its the edges that make it feel more bulky than it really is.. Gs phones are more rounded typically making them feel a little more comfortable. my opinion anyway lol

No they aren't. They would be if the X series was supposed to be their flagship model of 2011. But it's not, because that torch is being passed to the bionic.

there WILL be a Bionic
just not the Etna version which is what you see at CES
the Bionic will be the Motorola Targa.....and that I have confirmed with people I trust.
the Etna died...not the name Bionic

i hope they fix those lousy cheap @$$ buttons at the bottom of the droid x.. those things are always loose, wiggle around, not quite even, and just all around a $h%##y design. they should also put the ear piece and sensors under glass, not more inferior plastic parts. beyond that, its more or less the perfect phone.
