Looking for extra battery life? Xiaomi may launch a $6 5,200 mAh portable battery charger
China’s Xiaomi is seemingly getting ready to unveil a portable battery charger power bank that will cost only $6 (35 CNY). The news comes one month after Xiaomi released a 10,400 mAh power bank priced at around $11 in China.

The new portable battery charger hasn’t been officially confirmed, but Chinese website Inpai says it will have a 5,200 mAh capacity - which would be enough to fully charge your smartphone (or even a tablet) on the go. The website seems to have snapped some photos of the new power bank, which appears to come in red and blue.

The current 10,400 mAh Xiaomi power bank is “fully compatible” with smartphones and tablets from Apple, Samsung, HTC and others, so we’re expecting the new 5,200 mAh model to work with popular brand devices as well. Unfortunately, details on the availability of the 5,200 mAh portable battery charger have not been revealed.

For those who haven’t heard about Xiaomi yet, the company’s main focus is to make affordable high-end smartphones. It managed to sell more smartphones than Samsung in China in December 2013, and it plans to expand in more markets in the near future.

Update: We have to mention that both the 10,400 mAh and the 5,200 mAh Xiaomi power banks will certainly cost more than $11 and $6 for customers who may try to order them from the US or Europe.
