Motorola's latest big-battery mid-ranger also comes with bright colors and an excellent price
The Moto G77 Power 5G is priced at under $300 in India with 8GB RAM, an almost surprisingly premium and durable design, and most importantly, a 7,000mAh battery.

If you want to beat Samsung and Apple, you need to flood the smartphone market and especially key regions like India with as many feature-packed mid-rangers and affordable high-enders as possible... even if that means diluting your brand and making it hard for consumers to distinguish between very similar models with often confusing names.
That's basically Motorola's product launch strategy in a nutshell right now, as the Moto G77 Power today joins a family of budget-friendly handsets with surprisingly advanced specs and decidedly premium designs that welcomed other such members as the Moto G87, G47, G37 Power, and G37 over the last couple of months alone.

Incredibly enough, Motorola is advertising the handset at an even lower price of 23,999 rupees ($251) on social media, but whether that tag will require a downgrade from 8 to 4 gigs of memory or simply a purchase through Flipkart instead of the device maker itself starting July 13, you're clearly looking at a leading new candidate for the title of best budget 5G phone in the world here.

Should Motorola release more of these mid-rangers in other markets as well?
I'm not going to get into how much more expensive (and disappointing in a lot of ways) many US mid-rangers are right now because, sadly, I don't expect the Moto G77 Power to ever be released stateside... and I even have my doubts about European availability. What I will say is that a device like the Samsung Galaxy A37 5G normally starts at a way higher Rs. 41,999 ($440) with an admittedly higher-quality AMOLED screen, much better long-term software support, but also a much smaller battery on deck.
Let's talk a little about the competition
Obviously, the Galaxy A37 5G is not the only other good budget-friendly handset available in India today, and unlike in the US, quite a few Android mid-rangers around those parts can match and even exceed the 7,000mAh cell capacity of the Moto G77 Power.
You've got, for instance, the OnePlus Nord CE6 with an even larger 8,000mAh battery at a price of Rs. 33,999 ($355), not to mention the newer and cheaper Rs. 22,999 ($240) OnePlus N6 with a massive 8,000mAh ticker of its own.

Still, it's quite difficult to achieve the same delicate balance between brawn and style and between speed and affordability that the Moto G77 Power pulls off with military-grade durability, some beautiful Pantone colorways (Fuchsia Red being my clear favorite) perfectly complemented by an unmatched vegan leather finish, a more than respectable Dimensity 6400 SoC, and most importantly, three-day battery life on a single charge.
That's the kind of balance I'm dying to see achieved in the US mid-range landscape as well, but alas, that's unlikely to happen anytime soon.
