Latest pictures of the Vivo XPlay 5S reveal premium flagship model with 6-inch QHD screen
Back in November, we showed you an image of the Vivo XPlay 5S and passed along some specs for the device. Five months later, the model remains unannounced. The latest buzz around the water cooler has Vivo's next flagship smartphone getting unveiled next month. A trio of pictures shows the phone with a premium metal build, two speaker grills on the bottom separated by the connector port, a 2.5D curved frame and a double-sided glass design.

Back in November, the Vivo XPlay 5S was said to be a svelte 5.68mm thick. While it might not be the thinnest phone on the planet, it certainly can't be considered anything but thin. The pictures back in November showed off some sort of sensor on the back which is no longer on the device. And while the bottom of the phone nearly looks identical to the picture we showed you five months ago, it seems as though a small microphone opening has been removed when you look at the most recent pictures of the handset.

The specs are said to include a 6-inch glass with resolution of 1440 x 2560. This works out to a pixel density of 490ppi. At the time, a quad-core 2.5GHz Snapdragon 805 CPU was running the show, but that could easily be upgraded to the Snapdragon 808 CPU or Snapdragon 810 CPU by the time the handset is unveiled. 3GB of RAM is inside with 32GB of native storage and a 128GB capacity microSD slot. The latter is available for those who need additional memory. High quality chips help the device provide outstanding audio output.

On back of the unit you will find a 13MP camera with an aperture of f/1.8. That should let in enough light to allow you to take quality snaps even in low-light conditions. On front, an 8MP wide-angle snapper will capture great selfies. The 3500mAh battery keeps the gerbil running on the wheel, and Android 4.4.4 is pre-installed with Vivo's Funtouch 2.0 UI on top.

Sounds like Vivo has a high quality flagship here, and we should find out more about the phone including pricing and availability some time in May.
