Latest images of the Vivo Xplay 5S surface
The continuing story of the Vivo Xplay 5S, well, continues. We have been covering the development of this phone dating back to last November. From time-to-time, some news leaks out about the still unannounced handset. Earlier this month, speculation about the Xplay 5S included its use of the Snapdragon 820 SoC, which would point to a launch no earlier than late next quarter.

Today, some fresh images of the Vivo Xplay 5S have appeared, with one picture giving us a clear look at the back of the unit. Based on the photo, the Xplay 5S will feature a laser auto focus for the rear camera, dual two-tone flash, and a fingerprint scanner that is nestled underneath the camera. We also can see the volume rocker above the power button on the right side of the phone.

Another picture shows the handset from the top down. There isn't anything terribly exciting in this photo, unless a 3.5mm earphone jack is your favorite part of a phone. The picture also shows off the metal border on the front of the device, and a secondary noise cancelling microphone.

The Vivo Xplay 5S is expected to carry a 6-inch display (with 2.5D glass) and a 4K resolution of 2160 x 3840. The aforementioned Snapdragon 820 chipset will carry a quad-core CPU and the Adreno 530 GPU. 4GB of RAM is said to be inside, along with 64GB of native storage. The latest rumor calls for a 21MP rear-facing snapper, and a 12MP shooter in front for selfies. A large 4000+mAh battery will power up the whole shebang, and Android 6.0 should be pre-installed.

Yes, the Vivo Xplay 5S is a beast, although for now it is a mythical beast until Vivo actually makes it official. Hopefully, that will happen soon.

Thanks for the tip!
