Truth Social parent will sell advance access to Trump's posts to wealthy traders

Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), the company that runs the social media app Truth Social, has come up with an interesting way to monetize the site. Currently, the operation runs at a substantial loss since the social media site does not collect any revenue from mainstream advertisers due to all of the controversy generated by President Donald Trump's actions and statements.
Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) lost nearly $406 million during Q1
Forced to deal with small companies with tiny advertising budgets, Truth Social lost $405.9 million during the first quarter of 2026. However, last week the company hit upon a brilliant way for the company to bring some big bucks into TMTG's coffers.
What does Truth Social have of value that it could sell? It has the posts known as "Truths" written by President Trump, of course. Many of Trump's posts, especially now in the midst of the War with Iran, substantially move markets in minutes. Texts about tariffs and trade policies, military and regulatory actions, and corporate call-outs can generate large enough moves for experienced day traders and Wall Street firms' proprietary trading desks to profit from.
Imagine what your trading results would be if you had access to Trump's social media posts in advance
With this in mind, TMTG is starting a new initiative that is controversial, but also has plenty of potential. Called "Truth API," the company is offering hedge funds and high-frequency traders advanced copies of Truths written by President Trump before they are published on Truth Social. Knowing what the president is going to post on Truth Social before he posts it can be as good as printing money.

How much trading firms will pay to read the president's Truths in advance
This isn't a cheap service, as the price for information is $100,000 a month. If you sign a three-year contract, the monthly price is reduced to $60,000. What these trading firms get in return is low-latency, millisecond-fast access to a machine-readable data feed of not just Trump's Truth Social posts, but also those consisting of the top ten most influential Truth Social accounts.
You might not know that Reddit and X sell API data access, but TMTG is getting criticized. Because Trump owns a majority stake in TMTG, those protesting this monetization say that this is Trump profiting from being the president by selling high-speed access to statements and government action that can move markets.
"Markets already move on Truth Social posts" said the interim CEO of TMTG
In a statement, Kevin McGurn, interim chief executive officer at Trump Media & Technology Group, said, "Markets already move on Truth Social posts." He added that the information and the service it is offered through is designed for those "most impacted by the cost of a delay in information." That would be high-volume, fast-moving stock traders who buy and sell shares so quickly that most of these trades last fractions of a second.
The TMTG executive said that the service will provide a "meaningful, ongoing source of revenue" for the company. The data feed will deliver to subscribers "continuous 24/7 coverage" with an archive of posts dating back to 2022.
President Trump has a leading 12.9 million followers on Truth Social. Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump have 7.42 million and 3.29 million followers, respectively. The Trump White House has its own Truth Social account with 5.46 million followers.
Considering that President Trump has made many market-moving announcements on Truth Social, there will be some subscriptions for this service sold. Trump Media & Technology Group shares closed Friday at $9.66, up 3 cents or 0.31%. The 52-week high is $20.92 and the 52-week low is $6.96. The company has a valuation of $2.68 billion.
If Donald Trump were not the President of the United States, there would be no issue at all with TMTG offering this information. Traders would decide whether it would be worthwhile to spend $60,000 to $100,000 per month for the early access to Truth Social posts. But since he is the president, what he writes in his posts is more likely to move markets, and this whole scheme, designed to help TMTG generate some profits, feels more like another attempt to scam the public.
After all, the typical investor is not going to be able to afford shelling out those huge monthly fees to get access to President Trump's Truths. Think about this the next time you buy a stock; the guy on the other side of your trade might have some important information about a trade policy, or a decision that will cost you some money when it is announced to the public. This means that the stock market does not offer a fair and balanced playing field for investors as long as it is possible for huge banks and securities firms to buy advanced info from the president.
