A third batch from the same Blass leak that revealed marketing materials for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 yesterday now covers the Galaxy Watch 9, and the freshest part again isn't the hardware. These images lean into a health software push, including a multi vitals dashboard, guided running coaching and a sleep apnea recheck.
What the leak reveals about the Watch 9's health push
Evan Blass is behind this one too, rounding out a busy 24 hours for his leaks. This batch covers the Galaxy Watch 9, and it reconfirms the Snapdragon Wear Elite chip Qualcomm and Samsung had already been linked to, this time straight from Samsung's own marketing render.

The bigger focus here is health software. The materials show a Vitals screen flagging two metrics as out of range, a guided running coach that tracks progress toward a set time, and a sleep apnea recheck alongside the usual sleep and Energy scores.

If the Watch 9 is really just a software update this year, what's your move?
If you're weighing this against Apple instead, our review of the Series 11 against the Galaxy Watch 8 found Samsung already leaning harder into new health metrics while Apple's design and feature set stayed mostly the same, and that gap looks set to widen again with the Watch 9's software additions.

Four colors: white, graphite, green and black
The materials don't show battery figures, but earlier reporting points to 325 mAh on the 40mm case and 445 mAh on the 44mm, only a 10 mAh bump over the Watch 8.
Where this leaves us
Leaning on software instead of hardware makes sense for a smartwatch that's already about as thin and comfortable as it needs to be. A Vitals dashboard that actually tells you what's off, rather than just logging numbers, is the kind of feature people will use day to day.
I'd still call the hardware side a rounding error over the Watch 8, and that's fine given how refined it already is. Here's hoping that guided coaching feature holds up as well in a real workout as it does in these renders.
