Isn't it possible that the Passion is going to Sprint? The phones stlyle is similar to the sprint hero so the cdma version could go to sprint.. besides wouldn't it have the branding Droid Passion if it was going to Big Red?

If nothing is official yet, then why would it have the moniker of "Droid Passion"? Besides, Passion is just an HTC internal name, just like Sholes was the internal name for Droid; Onyx for Blackberry Bold 9700. Get it? As far as I've read, all rumors point to Verizon as the winner of the Passion sweepstakes. I highly doubt it would go to Sprint after hearing for months that Verizon will get it.

The rumors are nothing more than "Oh, CDMA Passion. Will see a Verizon release..." Similar to the numerous, "Oh, device X passed FCC with 850/1900MHz 3G. Will see AT&T release..." - VDubb

If the Passion exists as a GSM and CDMA counterpart, it's clear who the two carriers will be. AT&T has been pretty apparent about their lack of interest in Android, probably because of their iphone ties. Winner: T-Mobile. For the CDMA handset, well between Sprint and Verizon, one of these two companies had a big presser two months ago to announce a partnership with Google. Sorry, Sprint fans. It may get to you, but if so, count on later rather than sooner. Winner: Verizon. I don't think this is the google phone, but if it somehow is, all bets may be off. However, I don't think you'll be seeing the gphone come out as a subsidized carrier device. And it would be odd not to cram all the radios into one handset, which is feasible, so to minimize costs with a single build.

I agree with sam, if you look at verizon's upcoming list. It indicates htc passion since october 26th, I believe. Ive been waiting for a official release date.

biggles, you pretty much summed it up how things have been recently. HTC and Sprint were buddies until recently, Verizon was always the last one to get a device. I'm still waiting on the Sprint version of the Imagio and a Snap w/WiFi, won't discount the previous relationship
