I know it, you know it, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is simply better than the iPhone Duo for now
The people have spoken, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is a better phone than the iPhone Duo and the best passport-style foldable to have come out this year.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the iPhone Duo aren’t the only foldable smartphones that came out this year with new form factors. This was the year of wide passport-style foldables, as the Xiaomi 18 Fold and the Huawei Pura X Max also entered this segment.
But which one is better? Well, if the people are to be believed, then it’s most definitely the Galaxy Z Fold 8. I agree with the people.

As disillusioned Apple fans consider canceling their iPhone Duo pre-orders, we held a poll asking you which wide-folding phone released this year was the best of the bunch. With almost 74 percent of the votes, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 handily beat all of its passport-style rivals.
The long-awaited iPhone Duo — which has been host to numerous design flaws since its release — came second with only 12.5 percent of the votes. For some of you, despite its many problems, the iPhone Duo is the most interesting take on foldables yet apparently.

In third place behind the iPhone Duo with almost seven percent of the votes was the Huawei Pura X Max. The Pura X Max was actually the first foldable of this design to hit the market, though its popularity stateside remained almost non-existent for obvious reasons.

In last place, with only around 6.6 percent of the votes, was the Xiaomi 18 Fold. Interestingly, the Xiaomi 18 Fold has the exact same dimensions as the iPhone Duo. Clearly, for some of you, it also has the hardware and the software to make it actually worth getting.

What was the best wide foldable launched this year?
Personally, I can’t really pass judgement on the Huawei Pura X Max, though I’m sure that it’s a great phone. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 18 Fold automatically loses in my eyes because I severely dislike Xiaomi trying so blatantly to copy its rivals when it’s capable of making such excellent and original phones.
That leaves the iPhone Duo and the Galaxy Z Fold 8, and, let’s be honest here, I know it, you know it, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is the better phone.
It’s less likely to break during normal operation and it’s got app compatibility nailed down. The iPhone Duo has had a rough launch and it just isn’t there yet. Especially not when it starts at $2,000.
