The best Galaxy S26 Ultra feature could get even better on both the Galaxy S27 Ultra and S27 Pro
Two of Samsung's four Galaxy S27 family members next year are expected to support an improved version of this year's S26 Ultra-exclusive Privacy Display tech.
If you've ever used or even tried on the Galaxy S26 Ultra for size for a few minutes in a Samsung store, you probably have some thoughts on the handset's marquee feature and key differentiator from the S26 and S26 Plus.
But whether your early Privacy Display evaluation was positive or negative, you should be excited (or at least intrigued) to hear that the world's number one smartphone vendor is purportedly planning to both expand and improve the buzzworthy technology on next year's Galaxy S27 family.
Two of four models will likely be able to protect your privacy out the box
Unless you're completely oblivious to all the gossip floating around the interwebs in regards to Samsung's next ultra-high-end phones, you probably already know there's a very good chance the S27 lineup will stretch from three to four products.

In addition to predictable Galaxy S27, S27 Plus, and S27 Ultra sequels for this year's S26 trio, an all-new Galaxy S27 Pro model is also in the pipeline according to many reputable insiders, and unsurprisingly, this is expected to share built-in Privacy Display capabilities with its Ultra sibling.
We've actually heard this rumor before, but when a publication as reliable as SamMobile can "confirm" that the Galaxy S27 Ultra and S27 Pro will support Privacy Display technology and the Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus will lack the feature, it's definitely important to pay attention, especially if you're unsure whether you should wait for these upgraded devices or pick up a member of the Galaxy S26 family this holiday season.
How might Privacy Display be "improved"?
Speaking of upgrades, SamMobile's almost always accurate inside sources can allegedly confirm that the Privacy Display tech on the S27 Ultra and S27 Pro will be better than what the S26 Ultra exclusively brought to market earlier this year... without elaborating.

Of course, it's not that hard to imagine how the feature could be improved, especially if you're familiar with the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. That device came out months after the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which clearly allowed Xiaomi to better implement privacy protection, enabling among others a very handy split-screen functionality.

With this nifty tool, Xiaomi 18 Pro Max users can keep part of their screen hidden from prying eyes while still scrolling on social media without compromising the display quality or the outdoor visibility of their non-delicate content.
According to this new report, the Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra will also step things up on the display brightness front, which is pretty amazing to hear considering that our comprehensive Galaxy S26 Ultra review already praised the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 giant as one of the sharpest and brightest phones out there.

Of course, there's always room for improvement when it comes to outdoor readability, but personally, I'd be very disappointed if the Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus fall behind their higher-end brothers in this department as well.
