Samsung swings into Spider-Man after the trailer guessing game
After cameos in that record-setting first trailer, Samsung and Sony confirmed the official tie-in today. Tom Holland's Peter Parker carries the Galaxy Z Flip, while best friend Ned Leeds, played by Jacob Batalon, plays the "guy in the chair" from a Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Watch.

The headline piece is the Spidey Tracker, a fan-powered website built on a scene where Ned codes a tool to locate Spider-Man, powered by Galaxy. It teases today and goes fully live tomorrow [June 17] at 3 p.m. ET with the second trailer.

So does a blockbuster cameo change how you see a phone?
Does seeing a phone star in a blockbuster change how you feel about it?
Why Samsung landed the product placement of the summer
For most shoppers this is about visibility, not specs, and Samsung grabbed front-row seats to the summer's biggest movie. That first trailer, which dropped back in March, is already the most-watched in film history, with 718 million views in its first 24 hours, reach no ad budget can buy.

Back in March, when that first trailer dropped, fans on X could not agree on what they saw, with some sure the mystery flip phone was a Sony Xperia, since Sony makes the film and rarely shows rival hardware. One reply called it early, spotting the Galaxy Watch on Ned's wrist.

A Galaxy Z Fold in the tech genius's hands, its inner screen running a pixel map of Spidey sightings, frames the foldable as a work tool. On the Pixel 10 Pro Fold or another book-style foldable? This changes nothing for you, just a marketing win for Samsung.
How to jump on the Spidey Tracker yourself
Want in? The Spidey Tracker lives at SpideyTracker.com, going live tomorrow [June 17] at 3 p.m. ET with the second trailer, then chasing Spidey sightings at live events, venues and creator videos all summer.
The experience spans 35 countries and runs in any browser, so you do not need a Galaxy phone to join. Just know it is a promo campaign first, so you are in for a movie tie-in, not a Galaxy exclusive.
Why the hero's gadget choice hits home for me
This one lands for me. I have leaned hard into foldables for serious work.
You could say I jokingly call myself the, ahem, "woman in the chair" of my own setup. Needless to say, watching Ned run everything off a Galaxy Z Fold felt oddly familiar.
A cameo does not rewrite a spec sheet, though. A Fold earns its keep through screen size and multitasking, not a movie role, and that is the part this campaign quietly gets right.
