OnePlus is getting ready to drop the OnePlus 15R later this month, and just before launch, the phone has popped up online again with a new batch of info that basically fills in the last missing pieces.
OnePlus 15R shows up on Geekbench ahead of launch
OnePlus will officially unveil the OnePlus 15R on December 17 for global users. The company has already shared quite a bit about the phone, and since the OnePlus Ace 6T – which is basically the same device for China – is already on sale, most of the specs are well-known. Still, we now have another confirmation thanks to a new Geekbench listing.

The phone was spotted running Android 16 and sporting 12 GB of RAM, though I honestly expect a 16 GB RAM option too, just like last year’s model. As for scores, it hit 2,846 in single-core and 9,775 in multi-core, which lines up exactly with what you’d expect from its chipset. Speaking of which – the OnePlus 15R is confirmed to be powered by the brand-new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5.
We know other things for sure, too. For example, for colors, the global model will come in two finishes:
Charcoal Black
Mint Breeze

In China, the Ace 6T packs a huge 8,300mAh battery, and there is no reason to think the global 15R will be any different. That battery is actually larger than the one in the OnePlus 15. Charging is set at 100W wired, which is right in line with what OnePlus usually does.
The display is expected to be 6.8 inches with support for a 165Hz refresh rate, matching its flagship sibling. What really surprised me, though, is the durability rating OnePlus is hyping up. The company is teasing full flagship-grade protection: IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K.
That combo means the phone can survive 30 minutes underwater at 1.5 meters, plus handle high-pressure, high-temperature water jets – something you rarely see on a mid-ranger.
Price-wise, the OnePlus 15R should land around $599, assuming OnePlus keeps things level as it did with the OnePlus 15, which didn’t get a price bump despite all its upgrades.
The OnePlus 15R might shake up the mid-range space
Just like the OnePlus13R before it, the OnePlus 15R is shaping up to be a pretty compelling mid-range pick. Based on everything we have seen so far, it could easily outshine phones like the Galaxy A56 5G or the Pixel 9a. Of course, the real judgment will come after hands-on testing – and with the launch right around the corner, we won’t have to wait long.
With that huge 8,300mAh battery, the phone is clearly built for people who put long battery life first. Combine that with a refreshed design that follows the OnePlus 15’s look, and you will get a mid-range device that performs well and feels premium. Honestly, I wouldn’t be shocked if it ends up on a lot of “best mid-range phone of 2026” lists.

I’m loving where OnePlus is heading with the 15-series
I’ve got to say, I really like the design direction OnePlus is pushing this year. It won’t be everyone’s favorite, but to me it looks cleaner and more modern. And the specs are solid for the price – especially with 12 GB RAM minimum, which is something you don’t get often in the mid-range tier.
With the phone set to launch on December 17, expect even more details and teasers, so stay tuned for updates.
