Design has always been one of the main selling factors of Nothing phones. Whether it be its flagship, the Phone (3), or its mid-ranger, the Phone (4a), all come with very unique and aesthetic designs. A recent video shared by the company on its official X handle reveals that it is going to continue with the same approach with the upcoming Nothing Phone (4b) as well.
The video starts with a hand drawing the sketch of the handset. The look is exactly what you'd expect a Nothing phone to look like: rear panel screws are visible, the design appears to be flat, and obviously, there's also the Glyph Lighting system.
The shared teaser also reveals an iPhone 17 Pro-like camera plateau, though it's not as thick as you find in the iPhone. The vertical dual camera setup is placed at the left corner of the plateau, with the Glyph lighting system planted vertically in the right corner. Between these two elements, the phone contains a pill-shaped module that features a single LED flash and one more black circular element, which could be some kind of sensor or even simply a design that's been included to give a more aesthetic look to the phone.
More colors options could be available

Here is your first look at the upcoming Nothing Phone 4b
Will launch in 3 colors Black , White and Blue
Your thought on design ?
• Glyph lights, like Nothing Phone 4a
• Design similar to Nothing Phone 4a Pro , but it is not metal body

The official video reveals the phone only in the blue color; however, there would definitely be more options available if a recent leak is true. A reliable tipster, Debayan Roy, recently shared an image of the phone in three different colors: black, white, and blue. That means, there could be two more color choices for you other than what has been officially revealed.

The possibility of this happening seems too high, as the company has always released its products in multiple color options. For instance, the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro is available in three finishes: silver, black, and pink.
Who should really go for the Nothing Phone (4b)?
Comment about Phone 4b on Reddit. | Image by DilSeOP via Reddit
Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis recently made a post on X revealing exactly what (b) stands for. According to him, it represents a completely different product segment. If you further try to read between the lines, you'll realize that Evangelidis is basically suggesting that Phone (4b) devices will be budget options and most likely sit below the 4a models in Nothing's portfolio.
So from what I can understand, the new (b) line of products would target users who want the aesthetic design of Nothing phones, but at the price of the company's entry-level CMF handsets. For reference, CMF mobiles like the CMF Phone Pro 2 carry a very simple look compared to (a) line devices like the Nothing (4a) Pro.
In fact, a few Reddit users believe that this could actually be a rebranded version of the CMF Phone 3 that has been cancelled. For those unaware, the Akis Evangelidis confirmed that the next CMF phone has been cancelled because of surging memory prices. Basically, Akis said that because of the rising memory prices, the company is unable to build a phone that feels like a "genuine step forward at a price that makes sense for CMF."
Do you think the Nothing Phone (4b) has a clear audience?
It could actually turn out to be my first Nothing phone
I currently own a Pixel 10, an S26 Plus, and an iPhone SE 2, but I've always thought of getting a Nothing phone, not to use as my daily driver, but to try out how its whole ecosystem feels. Since I don't see myself using a Nothing phone as my main phone (yet), I've always felt hesitant about spending big bucks on getting devices like the Nothing Phone 3 or Nothing (4a) Pro. I have always found the CMF lineup too basic for me as it doesn't feature the signature Nothing design.
That's why, the Nothing Phone (4b) seems like a dream product for me as it'll carry the unique design of Nothing phones and would also most likely launch at a price of CMF devices. Debayan Roy claims that the device could be priced at around 30,000 INR which is roughly around $317 on direct conversion. This is definitely a pricier number than other CMF phones.
I really hope that surging memory prices don't affect the cost of the products. That said, the Nothing Phone (4b) would be officially launched on July 7.
