This is the possible launch date of Samsung's most predictable Galaxy S phone this year

We've already heard all sorts of leaks and rumors regarding the Galaxy S26 FE. But somehow, a major piece of the puzzle has been missing until now. A fresh leak may have just revealed the possible launch date for Samsung's upcoming Fan Edition model.

According to X leaker fireuniverse, Samsung might unveil the Galaxy S26 FE on September 4, 2026. If true, that would mean the upcoming Android phone is unveiled exactly one year after the Galaxy S25 FE, down to the day.

Beyond the Galaxy S26 FE, the tipster claims Samsung's Galaxy Tab S12 is also coming up, supposedly scheduled for October 7, 2026. Curiously enough, the Tab S11 landed alongside the S25 FE last year. So, if the rumor proves accurate, Samsung might be shifting its tablet launch strategy this year.

Additionally, the Galaxy A08 and the A18's 4G variants could be announced in October this year, while their 5G counterparts might arrive in January or February next year.

Is Samsung's Galaxy FE lineup still necessary?

Not the only sign the launch is near

While this X leak should be treated with a grain of salt since there's no official information directly from Samsung, other signs pointing toward the Fan Edition model's launch window have also appeared.

On August 5, Android Headlines shared a Galaxy S26 FE firmware leak that shows official wallpapers and hints of One UI 9.5. However, the device is unlikely to debut with this One UI version, as this software version is expected to be first available on next year's Galaxy S27.

In any case, the Galaxy S26 FE will most likely run on Android 17 out of the box.

But what else do we know about the S26 FE? Leaks suggest the camera system may be identical to last year's S25 FE. Under the hood, Samsung might add an Exynos 2500 chip, potentially providing a performance boost. On the downside, prices are expected to go up.

For buyers struggling to see the value in the Galaxy S26 FE, Samsung's own flagship lineup could make the decision even harder. Right now, for instance, the Galaxy S26 is on sale at a smashing discount, making it the ideal alternative for many.

With rumors pointing to a possible €50 price increase (on the base storage configuration), the Galaxy S26 FE could potentially reach a starting price of $699.99 in the US.

That may make it an increasingly hard sell for budget-oriented fans. With direct competitors like the Google Pixel 10a selling at $499, Samsung may need to do more than just deliver incremental upgrades to justify the higher cost.

I don't know how you feel, but to me, when a mid-range phone goes beyond the $650 mark, it starts to feel like it's no longer a true mid-ranger. That's my biggest complaint with the Galaxy S26 FE.

The Fan Edition series has always been about delivering flagship-grade specs without the flagship price tag. But if each generation becomes pricier than the one before, then the entire value proposition starts to shift.
