Some Galaxy S26 Ultra owners recently complained—and rightly so—that their phones developed a nasty red tint in the center of their displays.
This is quite the frustrating bug, but experiencing it on your $1,300 flagship is even more of a letdown: premium-priced devices shouldn't be prone to such problems… but some Galaxy S Ultra units have suffered from the green line plague in the past, too.
The good news is that the red tint can be fixed by calibration.

As we told you recently, some Galaxy S26 Ultra owners have reported a strange red tint developing in the center of the display after a few months of use.
The issue appears as a reddish patch or vertical strip that becomes most noticeable on bright or white backgrounds. Enough users have reported the issue on forums and social media that Samsung launched an investigation into the matter. At the time, it wasn't clear how widespread the issue was, but the number of complaints was significant enough to draw the company's attention.

Solving problems
Now, SamMobile reports that a Samsung notice for users in South Korea has been made official. According to the information, the pale red blob on the S26 Ultra's screen is actually attributed to a software bug and it could be fixed by a calibration.

Those who have the red tint and wish to get rid of it should visit an official Samsung service center and get the calibration done (regardless of their phone's warranty status) for free. Samsung would even provide a same-day service for the problem.
A software fix, too
The good news is that Samsung highlights a software fix coming in the very near future. This means that you don't have to go to a physical Samsung service center to get the problem fixed.
Right now, the company doesn't provide detailed information about the software update itself but will do so "as soon as the preparation is complete".
