After finally launching Siri AI alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iOS 27, Apple is now in a frenzy of hardware launches. The disastrous pre-orders for the iPhone Duo followed the announcement of the HomeView, the new Apple TV 4K, and the HomePod mini 2, and next week we’re about to get even more new products.
Apple announced a “Pro and Tell” event
Apple is launching another set of new products next week during an event called “Pro and Tell.” Just like the “Welcome home” product launch earlier this month, the next one will be an Apple experience and not a classic event with a keynote.

The “Pro and Tell” experience is taking place next Wednesday, October 28 at 10AM PT. The invitation, which was posted on X by Greg Joswiak and sent out to members of the media says the event will be held in Los Angeles.

We’re most likely getting the new MacBook with an OLED touchscreen

Rumor has it that the highlight at the event will be all about new Macs. This could be the launch of the long-rumored MacBook with a touchscreen and OLED panel. This model could be called the MacBook Ultra and feature a Dynamic Island, a lighter chassis, and M5 Pro and M5 Max chips.
Apple is also expected to give a hardware upgrade to some of its current computers. Those could include a refresh to the iMac and the entry-level MacBook Pro models, which may retain their design but get M6 chips.

Users online are quite unanimous in their skepticism towards the potential touchscreen on a MacBook. While not all comments on Reddit are completely against the idea, the majority of the positive comments pair this change with more drastic design shifts.

We may get the iPad mini with OLED display as well
Next week’s event is also expected to be the place we finally see the 8th generation iPad mini, which is expected to feature an OLED display. One thing that remains unclear about it is whether the display will stick to the 60Hz refresh rate or Apple will finally budge and offer a 120Hz panel.
Outside of this, the mini tablet is expected to come with revamped speakers, and a slight redesign that’ll move the front-facing camera to its long side. On the hardware side, the iPad mini 8 is expected to sport the A20 Pro chipset from the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
This Apple event is coming shortly after Microsoft launched its own new Surface Laptop lineup, including the high-end Surface Laptop Ultra. Widely considered the first truly AI laptop, this is one of the most competent Windows alternatives to the Apple Silicon MacBooks yet.
Watch out for the pricing
I may not need it, but I’d still love to try out a new MacBook with a touch display. However, I don’t think that’s happening because I expect the prices of these new products to be outrageous, just like with any other new device in recent months.
