Sony's latest Xperia X Concept build brings January security update, Night Light mode

Sony has run into a bit of trouble when delivering the long-awaited Android 7.0 Nougat update to its Xperia smartphones. However, this is a minor setback that the Japanese company promised to address quickly.

Since Android 7.0 Nougat is already on the way to many Xperia devices, Sony is now looking for way to add even more features to the new OS. In the latest Concept build for the Xperia X, Sony included a couple of new features that are likely to come into the stable version as well.

The most interesting addition is a new mode called Night Light, which will switch the display's color to amber during night time. The purpose of the new functionality is to allow users to read easier at night and reduce the exposure to blue light.

The new Night Light mode can be enabled from the settings. It also allows users to customize its exact timings, or simply set it from sunset to sunrise.

Furthermore, a new version of the Xperia Home launcher has been added, along with January security patch. Some bug fixes for noise canceling function and fingerprint test in the service menu have been implemented as well.

The new Concept build is now available for download to all those who are running the Experimental firmware on their Xperia X phones.
