Sony reveals that Lollipop for the Xperia Z is also on the way

Sony may be the major manufacturer that came late to the Android 5.0 Lollipop party, but it seems that it will try to make up for the slowdown by updating quite a few of its handset models. A couple of weeks ago, the company started pushing the update to its most recent tops-shelf smartphones – the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact. Just a day after that started, the update also began rolling out to the Z2 Tablet, Z3 Tablet Compact, and the Xperia Z2 handset. Now, after a two-week silence, it seems that the next wave of devices are slowly going to become known.

Yesterday, Sony confirmed that the Xperia C3 and Xperia T2 Ultra will also get sweet Lollipop... at some point. This goes against an earlier report, which suggested that the company will be looking to update the Xperia Z line only. Speaking of the Z line – today, Sony teased another upcoming update via a Google+ post, which also contains a render of the original Xperia Z. We'd suppose that if this handset is to get Android 5, the Xperia Z1 will be receiving it around the same time, too. However, there is no exact date given, Sony just promises the update to "come soon".
