Sony G3221 spotted with MediaTek Helio P20 CPU and 23MP Camera

Sony Mobile is expected to announce a couple of smartphones next month at Mobile World Congress, and two of them might be equipped with MediaTek chipset as proven by their UAProf (user agent profile) documents.

Today, we have another report that claims the high-end Sony G3221, which we reported about earlier this week, is indeed going to be powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6757 Helio P20 processor.

The Xperia smartphone with model number G3221 made it to AnTuTu, a benchmark application that is often used by users to test the performance of their handsets.

Sony G3221 will also pack a Mali-T880 graphics processing unit, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage inside. Also, as mentioned in our previous report, it will sport a full HD (1080p) resolution display of unknown size.

Another strong point of the phone could be the impressive 23-megapixel rear-facing camera, which is complemented by a secondary, no less impressive, 16-megapixel camera in the front.

As expected, the G3221 will be powered by Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. Along with some other Xperia phones that will probably be unveiled at MWC 2017, the G3221 will be Sony's first smartphone to ship with Nougat on board.

I think Helio P10 is better than Sd625. if we compare them P10 has higher clocked cortex a53 with same number of cores. LPDDR4 Ram Support and mali-880MP2 at 900Mhz is better than adreno 506 16nm vs 14nm so not much difference here.

I haven't owned a phone with P20, but currently have Lenovo P2 with SD625 and it's an excellent SoC. Performance is very fluid and rarely lags or slows down. It sips away at the battery very slowly, very efficient indeed. Also, games run smoothly and there's barely any heat.

ghz cant tell whole story, especially if they are from different makers sd 625 inside moto z playhttp://www.gsmarena.com/moto_z_play-review-1538p5.php p20 inside meizu 3x notehttp://www.gizchina.com/2016/11/29/meizu-m3x-spotted-geekbench-shows-helio-p20/ and these soc they aim to provide efficiency more than perfomance, check battery test of moto z play in that link its mind blowing 100h of endurance 15hrs of browsing and 18hrs of video playback. probably that phone can give 10+ hours of on screen

both are low-end processor.. still can't match true mid-ranger like SD650/SD652, especially on GPU part

I hope that they're aso going to launch a flagship, like the X performance last year. But I guess they save the best for IFA like the last few years.

I hope they dump their IMX300 from their flagship range and trickle it down to high midrangers. My Xperia XZ rear camera does fine but noise reduction and corner sharpness issues linger everywhere. Keep the sensor size, reduce the pixel count, update the ISP and bring mechanical OIS already!
