Official Sony Xperia 1 pre-orders will come with free wireless noise-canceling headphones
Sony has a bad habit of releasing perfectly respectable smartphones at wildly exaggerated price points, and unfortunately, the high-end Xperia 1 is no exception, fetching a whopping $950 without actually rivaling the likes of the Galaxy S10+ or even the cheaper OnePlus 7 Pro in terms of design trendiness, camera performance, or overall specifications.

But although the extra-tall 6.5-incher has been listed as up for pre-order on Amazon since March, its official US sales are only scheduled to kick off in a couple of weeks. Namely, on July 12 across major retailers like Best Buy, Amazon, B&H Photo Video, Focus Camera, and Beach Camera, all of which will apparently offer a super-sweet freebie during the handset's sanctioned pre-order period.

This will run from Friday, June 28 to July 12, seeing early adopters score complimentary WH1000XM3 headphones, normally worth no less than $350 on their own. Those noise-canceling bad boys are some of the best-reviewed audio accessories in their class, and although they've been discounted a number of times in the recent past, they're still pretty valuable, substantially sweetening the Xperia 1 deal.

Available in black and purple color options, the phone obviously packs a state-of-the-art Snapdragon 855 processor, along with 6GB RAM and 128 gigs of internal storage space. That's certainly not a bad high-end configuration, but we'd be remiss not to mention a OnePlus 7 Pro variant featuring 8 gigs of memory and 256GB digital hoarding room costs $699, while the $999 Galaxy S10+ (which can often be purchased at a lower price) comes with 8GB RAM of its own.

Still, as long as you buy the Sony Xperia 1 early, you're looking at a pretty solid deal, having to pay 950 bucks for an objectively great mobile device and some truly amazing wireless noise-canceling headphones.
