Meizu said to unveil a new ultra-affordable phone on January 28, here's what to expect
Do you remember the ultra-affordable Meizu Blue Charm Note (also rolling under the M1 Note name) that we told you about a few weeks ago? We certainly have not, because Meizu made quite the entree on the market for affordable devices with this good-spec'd handset. Just mentioning a 5.5” 1080p display made by Sharp, an octa-core 64-bit MediaTek chipset ticking at 1.8GHz, 2GB of RAM, a 13MP rear camera with a Samsung-made sensor, a 5MP selfie shooter, two SIM card slots on board, and a generous 3,140mAh battery to power the whole gizmo for the abnormally-low price of ¥ 999 (~$160) is making us wonder if the smartphone maker is losing some money on each sold unit.

Meizu, however, might be prepping yet another killer device - it has scheduled a launch event that will take place pretty soon, on January 28. It's no secret that the most highlight of this event might be slightly toned-down version of the Blue Charm Note, which will reportedly sport the same specs in a smaller and more compact body.

This "mini" variation of Meizu's low-cost trooper is expected to come with a 5" display and an even lower price - allegedly, around the equivalent of $128. Similar to its bigger counterpart, the smaller Blue Charm Note will be available in a handful of vivid colors.

Well, bring it on, Meizu!
