Lenovo Vibe Shot with 720p display spotted, should be cheaper than the 1080p model
Last month, when Lenovo officially announced the Vibe Shot, it said that the handset would be launched starting June. While the Vibe Shot that Lenovo already showcased sports a 5-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixels, the handset also has a version that features a 5-inch screen with 720 x 1280 pixels. This was recently approved by China's Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center, which also revealed the device's model number: Lenovo Z90.

The 720p Lenovo Z90 Vibe Shot looks exactly like the 1080p model, having similar dimensions: 142.6 x 70 x 7.6 mm. It seems that the screen is the only thing that differs between the two Vibe Shot variants. Thus, the 720p model comes with the same 16 MP rear camera that's found on the original handset (mind you, this camera has a triple LED flash, and Optical Image Stabilization). Other features include an 8 MP front-facing camera, an octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz, 3 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of expandable storage space.

Unlike other recently unveiled, high-end Lenovo smartphones (including the P90 and Vibe X2 Pro, both of which run KitKat), the Vibe Shot will run Android Lollipop out of the box.

The 1080p Vibe Shot will be sold for prices starting at $349, and we expect the 720p variant to be cheaper. However, for now we don't know if the latter will be available globally. In any case, if you want to find out more about the 1080p version of the smartphone, check out our Lenovo Vibe Shot hands-on.
