If you're a Apple historian, a fan of the brand (yeah, okay, a fanboy) or a person who just has to know everything about everything, you might want to circle May 13th on your calendar. That is the date when the very last Apple Watch pop-up store closes for good. Even though the Apple Watch has become the number one selling timepiece on the planet, apparently it isn't a good business to run a store that sells only Apple's smartwatch.

The store that is shutting is located inside Tokyo's tony Isetan department store, and was one of three such pop-up locations launched in the immediate aftermath of the Apple Watch launch back in 2015. Earlier this year, Apple closed the store at Galeries Lafayette in Paris. That followed the closing of the pop-up location at London's Selfridges department store. The closings could represent the end of Apple's attempt to market the Apple Watch as a fashion accessory as opposed to selling the device as a tech product.

Until the Isetan Tokyo store closes at the ends of the business day on May 13th, you might be able to pick up a pricey Apple Watch for a great price. Remember those 18-karat gold Apple Watch Edition models that were priced at $10,000 to $17,000? Isetan's website recently had them on sale for as low as $700.

A video of the Isetan pop-up store from its grand opening can be viewed by clicking on the video at the top of this story.
