HTC to hold July 11th event in India to introduce two handsets
On Friday, HTC is hosting an event in New Delhi. Expected to be introduced are the HTC One (E8) and the HTC Desire 616. The Former is a plastic version of the HTC One (M8) that replaces the Duo camera with a 13MP rear camera. Also, the IR blaster is not included on the device.

The HTC Desire 616 features a 5 inch screen with resolution of 720 x 1280. An MT-6592 1.4GHz octa-core processor from MediaTek is powering the phone, which comes with an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 2MP front-facing shooter. There is 4GB of native storage on board, and a microSD slot for those needing additional storage. A 2000mAh cell keeps the power on, and there is support for dual SIM use.

The HTC One (E8) will get introduced as a high end model. while the HTC Desire 616 fits in a slot between the HTC Desire 516 and HTC Desire 816. Pricing and availability will surely be announced on Friday.

Thanks for the tip!

Hope its cheap. HTC devices are costly here. There are better alternative to them. Also many people still think HTC as a "chinese company" . And internal storage of desire should be atleast 8gb. And of course , it should be updated to L and receive future updates like Motorola.

Htc m7 is much more costly than a s4 right now. !

And so.. s4 sales are still very strong here .. even greater than the m8!

Now you are talking HTC. I hope HTC would give E8 the same price tag which is given for China or somewhat lower.

Stupid HTC. Only hosting events, announcing devices.. But where are those devices..????

I have been trying to get a Desire 816 since last one month.. Its not available in retailers, shops, online shops ( if available its very costly like $100 more than price set by HTC in India)..... Due to shortage of supplies, its not available..
And HTC cries that their profit is low..
IDIOTS.. If you sell your devices only then you get profit....
They are concentrating on announcing devices but not selling them...

HTC should do some good advertisement in india, more than 50% people asked me after watching my one m7 "HTC naya company aaya hai kya...???"
