Deal: Get the unlocked Sony Xperia X for just $215 ($185 off) at B&H

The mid-end Sony Xperia X is on sale once again, but if you haven't fallen for any of the previous deals, then you'll now be able to get the phone for the lowest price to date.

The unlocked version of the Xperia X can be had for just $215 via B&H. Customers who decide to go for the deal will save no less than $185 when they buy the mid-range smartphone.

Even though this is the unlocked, North American model, the smartphone will only work on GSM carriers, so you won't be able to use it on Sprint and Verizon (or any other CDMA network operators).

It's also worth mentioning that the Graphite Black version of Xperia X has the biggest discount ($185), while the Lime Gold and White variants cost $150 less.

Although Sony Xperia X ships with Android 6.0 Marshmallow on board, a Nougat update is already available for download. Moreover, it's quite possible that Sony will provide another major update in the coming months, but the Japanese company has yet to announce any Android Oreo upgrade plans.

Is this one of the models where people figured out how to reenable the fingerprint reader in the US editions? That might be worth it as a media player and emergency backup phone.

I could be wrong but I think all sony USA models can do that. Once you flash an Eu firmware. I've a Sony XZ premium I bought at home in Ireland and I love it. Serving me well here on my holiday in ibiza..

Yeah you can do that on this phone and pretty much all sony phones. Just Google a guide. It's super easy

I bought this phone for my wife a while ago, and it was somewhat easy to flash the EU version to enable the fingerprint scanner.... I have to say that I was very very impressed with the overall performance of this phone compared to my XZ (which is double the price)... it has a Snapdragon 650 (where most competing midrangers had the 625)... it has a 1080p display and a flagship camera (not the best but not bad)... extremely good front camera... OK battery life (+4 hours of SoT) and 3GB of RAM which is more than enough for most people. The price is definitely a steal for this device... too bad that I don't believe it will get Android O though...
