Amazon U.K. resumes sales of the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL

Just yesterday, we told you that sales of the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL had been halted by Amazon in the U.K. and in France. While the online retailer didn't give a specific reason for the sales halt, we told you that it was possible that the phone was being sent to Microsoft to be updated with the latest OS and firmware versions. Phones sold on the site by third parties were not affected.

Whatever the problem was, and we may never know for sure, Amazon U.K. has resumed selling the handset today. Amazon's U.K. and French websites yesterday featured a special notice that said Amazon was not offering the phone for sale because "customers have told us that there may be something wrong with our inventory of the item, the way we are dispatching it, or the way its described here." That is a pretty vague statement.

The website lists the Lumia 950 XL as being available for $0 down, and 27.50 British Pounds a month ($40.47 USD) with either a new line, or an upgrade. The retail price of the handset is 439.99 British Pounds ($648 USD). You can choose between buying the phone in White or Black.

Give it a month or so, a couple more OTA updates and the price will be down an extra 100GPB or so. Then it'll be a worthwhile purchase. Microsoft needs to sell their (plastic) flagships for a really competitive price in order to convince Android/iOS users to give it a try...

other than app ecosystem it is not lacking in anything that wouldn't warrant its price. For any phone you will mention you will be sacrificing something and wont get everything in a single package. Compared to the market for its specs its completely fair. Software is a matter all in and of itself and can see why it would be the case for people seeing it in a different light. If this phone was a nexus device, there would be droves defending it, especially if android had any answer to continuum...they dont

As elitewolverine said, the 950 XL is worth every dollar. There's not a better phone you can get. The only downside would be if you don't like Windows OS, but that's no reason for MS to take a hit on their phone, just as Apple or Samsung shouldn't sell their phones at a loss to satisfy consumers who don't like iOS or Android, respectively.
