Pre-orders for the Motorola PHOTON 4G are a go with RadioShack right now
Although Walmart is taking the lead by pricing the highly anticipated handset at $159.99 on-contract, RadioShack’s offering of $179.99 is nevertheless still decent on so many levels – even more when it’s a high-end phone packing some serious hardware. Still, if you really want to guarantee yourself a handset, you might as well place an order with RadioShack right now. Moreover, it’s worth noting that the $179.99 price is exactly the same for existing customers with qualified upgrades.
Indeed a win-win situation for both types of customers, you might want to keep RadioShack as an option if you desperately want to pick up the handset come launch day – plus, it’s always nice saving at least some money during the process.

What better phones are coming out in "like a few days?" Some crap Samsung made with nothing but flimsy plastic?
I don't know how you can judge a phone before it's even out. Unless you just don't like the way it looks, in which case then it's just a matter of opinion.
So why WOULDN'T you want this???

When the evo3d was about to be released sprint premium customers were given the option of ordering the phone online 2 days prior to the release day and receiving it the next. You should contact Sprint and ask if they are doing something similar with the Photon

Sprint is selling it today online for Premier customers only. I ordered mine this morning. You just have to log into your online Sprint account and look under the Sprint Premier section, you will see the link to order.
They don't have any option for shipping except their free shipping method, and that says 2-5 days. So I really hope they just pull their thumbs out of their asses and get this phone to me pronto!
