The Meizu MX5 is expected to be unveiled on June 30th. The manufacturer plans on loading the device with the same specs that we've been seeing other Chinese manufacturers stuff inside their high-end models. Recently the handset went through the GFXBench website which allowed us to confirm some of the specs that have been rumored for the phone.

Based on the GFXBench app, the Meizu MX5 will feature a 5.5-inch 1080 x 1920 FHD resolution screen. Under the hood is a 64-bit MediaTek MT-6795T SoC containing a true octa-core 2.1GHz CPU, and the PowerVR G6200 GPU. 3GB of RAM is inside along with 16GB of internal memory. A 20MP camera adorns the back of the unit while a 5MP snapper graces the front of the model. Android 5.0.1 is pre-installed.

Not picked up on the GFXBench site is the expected fingerprint scanner, embedded in an oval home button in front. Also not seen on the benchmark test is the 128GB capacity microSD slot that will be available to those seeking additional storage, and the 3150mAh battery that will keep the phone running. The Meizu MX5 is rumored to be priced at the equivalent of $290 USD, and will be clad in metal.

Thanks for the tip!
