New pictures confirm a metal build and fingerprint scanner for the Meizu MX5
With the Meizu MX5 expected to be unveiled at the end of this month, every day seems to bring us more news about the handset. Today, a number of images have leaked, showing the metal shell allegedly earmarked for the device. This confirms earlier reports that the MX5 would feature an all-metal build. The pictures also show an oval cutout exactly where a home button would be placed. We expect that this button will be embedded with a fingerprint scanner.

The Meizu MX5 is expected to offer a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920. The MediaTek MT-6795T SoC is under the hood, which contains a true octa-core CPU and the PowerVR G6200 GPU. 3GB of RAM is inside. While the amount of internal storage is not known, it will be expandable thanks to the included 128GB capacity microSD slot. A 20MP rear camera is on board, employing a Sony sensor, and a 3150mAh battery keeps the lights on.

We could see the Meizu MX5 priced at the equivalent of $290 USD which would appear to make it a good value. Hold on. All will be revealed in a little more than a week.

Thanks for the tip!

And people will yell about how Apple is not innovative and how they copy other companies design. While in reality if somebody farts in Apple design facilty the rest of the world is competing who will be first to imitate that.

It looks like any phone in metal is copying apple. Does apple have patents for metal too?

FYI, Alcatel Idol and Meizu MX3 was first to use metal body phone. If you will also see MX3, their UI and over all look was also the inspiration for iPhone 6. Stop crying, your apple was also a copycat of others.

What started off as just an iPhone clone is turning out to be a unique and value for money proposition and saree I say something which can rival iPhone in terms of hardware and features

It's a shame they didn't copy 6 Plus's giant bezels. They put same size display in a 12.1mm shorter and 3.2mm narrower body.
