Lenovo K80 features 4 GB of RAM and a 4000 mAh battery, will compete with Asus ZenFone 2
Not long after Asus announced the ZenFone 2 as the world's first smartphone to offer 4 GB of RAM, and Xiaomi introduced the Mi Note Pro with 4 GB of RAM, now Lenovo unveiled its own handset with 4 GB of random-access memory.

Called Lenovo K80, the new handset will directly compete with the Asus ZenFone 2 not just because it offers 4 GB of RAM, but also because its price and other features are relatively similar to those of Asus' smartphone (which is already available in select markers, including China).

The K80 runs Android Lollipop, sports a 5.5-inch 1080p display, and is powered by a 64-bit Intel Atom processor clocked at 1.8 GHz. The handset also offers LTE, a 13 MP rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization, 64 GB of storage space, and a very generous 4000 mAh battery. The K80 is 8.5mm-thin, and comes in various color variants, including black, silver, and red.

Starting April 30, the Lenovo K80 will be available in China for 1,799 CNY ($290). A model with only 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage space will also be released (for 1,499 CNY - about $240). We don't know if Lenovo is planning to launch the K80 in other markets, but we'll let you know when we find out.

I would take 4GB of RAM and a 4000-5000 mAh battery over looks any day. I put a case on all of my phones anyway.

+11. I'd be all over this in a flash if it wasn't for Vibe UI's SLOW ASS dev progression and 3rd party ROMs' lax. Ticked all the right boxes for me; BIG screen, BIG batt, RAM and SoC last.

Cool, just what I am thinking. I thought I was going to buy the LG G4 but the anticipated price can cause crisis inside my wallet. The K80 is welcomed from Lenovo. Good that it's going to house 2 sim again which is what I need.

If you are literally talking about the looks, that would be pretty subjective.

I think it looks nice, understated, somewhat elegant, clean simple lines.

Exactly, what is the purpose, if you can't purchase it. Unless, you go through obscure third parties.

Exactly what? I believe it was a legimate question, not a comment to insinuate it won't be sold in the U.S. Right now there seems to be no information about U.S. sales.

I like this pushing the technology move. Let Samsung and Apple fight for that premium title and make 512mb and 1gb ram cheap or nearly obsolete for the majority of people. I would love to see a handset of 2gb ram with 32gb internal storage for only $100 in the near future.

And it will buddy. And with the current pace, sooner than you think.

Did anybody think about Lollipop running on 512kB or 1MB of RAM? I remember Google advertise this. I don't think Lollipop will run smooth without 2MB of RAM.

cicero you seem to be confused no phone can run with 512 kb or 1mb ram
Google advertised about 512 mb ram and yes phones lag even with even 1 gb ram minimum of 2 gb is needed to run android
but no os at present is as awesome as android

4 gigs of RAM is very nice. 4000 mAh depending on how long it runs ( but quick charging is a must ), so does with 64 GB of storage ( I'm not kind of guy that likes keeping so many datas ).
Phone looks = don't like it at all
