First Galaxy S27 Ultra render floats and gets torn to pieces

It's never too early to talk about the next best thing by big brands like Samsung or Apple; however, it's also true that it's never too late to stumble upon a misleading leak.

The upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra—a phone that's expected to be unveiled no earlier than Q1 of 2027—is one of those handsets that are always hot… even when there's still half a year ahead.

It's wise to always take preliminary information with a pinch of salt. For the next leak, I suggest a bucket, not a pinch, though. It's not just me, a major tipster also says what you're about to see is highly unlikely to materialize.

Way too early

What X is granting us with is a render of the alleged Galaxy S27 Ultra, courtesy of the "@TheGalox_" account:



Per the information, we'll be dealing with a device that comes with a 6.9-inch display which will support the Privacy Display feature that was debuted on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. So far, so good—nobody expects Samsung to drop this cool feature. Sure, it got its fair share of criticism earlier in 2026, but, at the end of the day, Samsung's Privacy Display is not a disappointment.

Too unrealistic?

The aforementioned leak claims we'll get a 16 MP selfie camera with OIS, a high-end Snapdragon chipset, a 5,700 mAh silicon-carbon battery and 12 or 16 GB of RAM to choose from.

The topic of the Galaxy S Ultra's battery really grinds my gears, as Samsung has refused to go above the 5,000 mAh capacity threshold that was introduced with the Galaxy S20 Ultra. Believe it or not, 5,000 mAh was what Samsung fans had to deal with for seven straight years.

While I'd be glad to see the S27 Ultra pack a 5,700 mAh cell, there are multiple conflicting claims and some say Samsung might go for a battery in the 5,200–5,500 mAh range.

But that's not the sketchiest thing of all

Where the leak above starts to look too suspicious is when it goes on to talk about the Galaxy S27 Ultra's rear camera setup. It says the phone will come with four cameras on its back, just like its predecessor. This means we're to get a main camera, an ultra-wide camera and two dedicated telephoto snappers.

Yeah, no. We've heard several times before that Samsung will most likely drop the secondary zoom camera on the Galaxy S27 Ultra. Mere hours ago, another credible report spoke of only three cameras on the back of the phone.

Thumbs down from Ice Universe

When it comes to Samsung information, it's difficult to find someone who's more reliable than Ice Universe on X.

Per their claims, "there is no second telephoto camera" on the S27 Ultra. The phone would arrive with a single telephoto—one that offers a 5x zoom magnification and packs a 50 MP sensor.

Again: this is what we've been hearing for weeks and months now, so the render—which looks super sketchy (not just because of the four cameras on the rear panel)—is probably nothing like the actual S27 Ultra.

I started with the notion that it's never too early to discuss the next best Android phone (or the best iPhone to buy); but this time, I think it's too early to give credit to renders. Maybe in November or in December we'll get something more realistic.
