Should you ever consider buying a five-year-old pair of true wireless earbuds? Absolutely, but they obviously have to be available at the right price for any sensible bargain hunter to be willing to give them a chance.

Compared to the most sophisticated AirPods Pro, Galaxy Buds Pro, and Pixel Buds Pro models, the mid-range Pixel Buds A-Series have always been reasonably priced, originally fetching $99. But after last year's Pixel Buds 2a announcement, that's definitely no longer a fair price to pay for non-noise-cancelling earbuds with middling battery life and acceptable but definitely not stellar audio performance.

With a sleek flush-to-ear design, rich sound, IPx4 water resistance, and up to five hours of uninterrupted listening time (or as much as 24 hours with the bundled charging case factored in), the Pixel Buds A-Series are definitely not the best wireless earbuds you can buy right now. But at 51 percent off their already reasonable list price, they might be too cheap to turn down, at least if you're an Amazon Prime member and if you hurry.

Which is where Amazon comes in today, slashing no less than $50 (or 51 percent) off the original list price of the first-gen Pixel Buds A-Series in a "Clearly White" colorway only. It almost goes without saying at this point that you're looking at a Prime Day 2026 deal here, but in addition to a Prime membership, you will need to hurry to be able to claim this particular offer.

Labeled as a "lightning" deal (which is a pretty self-explanatory term), the 51 percent discount is set to run through the end of the day... or while limited supplies last. At the time of my writing, the Prime-exclusive promotion is already "6 percent claimed", so I definitely wouldn't be surprised if Amazon's inventory runs out a lot earlier than the end of today.

What's crystal clear is that, unlike pretty much all other Prime Day deals we've been telling you about for the last 24 hours or so, this particular one will not stay live until Friday, so you may not want to waste another second wondering if there are better options for you on the market right now.

Obviously, there are plenty of better wireless earbuds available at substantial Prime Day discounts of their own, but very few can come close to the extreme affordability of the Pixel Buds A-Series. And for their newly reduced price, these are clearly not bad in terms of anything from overall sound quality to all-day comfort and connectivity with both Android handsets and iPhones.
