Probably the only good children-centric smartwatch on the market right now is on sale for Amazon Prime members only at an insanely low price.

That's right, you probably forgot about the kids, and how important it can be for both their well-being and your psychological stability to keep them busy and entertained during their summer school break. Enter the Fitbit Ace LTE, which is still one of the very few (full-blown) smartwatches designed with children's needs and parents' tranquility in mind.
Released a little over two years ago by none other than Google at a recommended US price of $229.95, the playful but also powerful wearable device is incredibly 170 bucks cheaper than that right now. That wouldn't have been possible without the aforementioned list price getting a permanent markdown to $179.99 last year, followed by an additional temporary discount of $120 for Prime members only this week.
The cheaper-than-ever LTE-enabled Fitbit Ace is somehow more affordable than rudimentary activity trackers like the Fitbit Inspire 3 and Charge 6 at the time of this writing, not to mention the screenless new Fitbit Air and "mainstream", general-purpose smartwatches like the Fitbit Versa 4 or Google Pixel Watch 3.
As insanely attractive as this Prime Day 2026 promotion undeniably is, there are a couple of important things you need to keep in mind before deciding if you're indeed looking at the best smartwatch for your child here. First of all, the 4G LTE connectivity casually included in the wearable's full name is useless without an Ace Pass data plan.
That's actually going to cost you more than the intelligent timepiece itself, requiring a monthly charge of $9.99 or a yearly $119 payment while promising to provide entertainment in the form of Fitbit Arcade games in addition to voice call and messaging support, GPS access, and frequent software updates.
Basically, that means the Fitbit Ace LTE is not quite as affordable as it seems, but it's still an unrivaled bargain for a target audience with a specific set of needs. If you're part of that audience, it might be a good idea to hurry, as Amazon has the smartwatch in stock at $120 off its $179.99 list price in a single "Mild" color option with a "Strange Arcade" band. Cool design, by the way!
