The Dark Cherry iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will be the “standout color” successors to the Cosmic Orange iPhone 17 Pro models, which were successors to the Desert Titanium iPhone 16 Pro phones before them. Now, demo units of the Dark Cherry iPhone 18 Pro Max and the blue iPhone 18 Pro models have leaked, and I am ecstatic at how good the former looks.

In the sort of leaked video (translated source) that I had anticipated would have come out a lot earlier, iPhone 18 Pro Max demo units can be seen at what is possibly a store. Two phones can be seen here, an iPhone 18 Pro Max in Dark Cherry and an iPhone 18 Pro in blue.
The Dark Cherry iPhone 18 Pro Max, in my opinion, looks exceptionally pretty. It looks a lot more like the leaked shade that made me question my allegiance to black smartphones some time ago.
Other leaks had followed with different tones for Dark Cherry, so I’m glad that this is the alleged final product.

The other demo unit shown in the video is an iPhone 18 Pro in the new blue shade. After the really dark blue of the iPhone 17 Pro, the really light blue of the iPhone 17, and the almost-indistinguishable-from-white blue of the iPhone Air, this is a breath of fresh air (pun intended?).

The third color for the iPhone 18 Pro models will either be silver or gray, according to a previous leak where SIM trays in all three colors were shown off. Once more, there will not be a white or black option for the Pro models this year, though the foldable iPhone Ultra is said to be coming in only those two colors.

In addition, the iPhone Air 2 — which will reportedly come out early next year alongside the iPhone 18 and the iPhone 18e — will also likely have black and white options available.
The Dark Cherry that I wanted

Some leaks and dummy units showed off a Dark Cherry that was way too red, in my opinion. The color tone shown in the video above is almost the same as the aforementioned render that made me reconsider whether black smartphones always looked the best.
This is the first time that I’m considering buying a phone purely because of its exclusive color that year. And, apparently, I’m not the only one, either.

Apple’s recent colors for its products have caught a lot of people’s eyes. From Ultramarine on the iPhone 16, Cosmic Orange on the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, and Citrus on the MacBook Neo, the company is embracing bright and fun new colors for its devices.
This strategy will more than likely help Apple greatly. The iPhone 17 series, for example, was the best-selling lineup of phones in the first quarter of this year, and that trend continued into the second quarter as well despite the release of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Despite what so many people had said about the iPhone 17 Pro redesign when it first leaked online, the phone was anything but a commercial failure.

These risks — new designs, new colors, and innovative new features — will help Apple in maintaining this lead. With the foldable iPhone Ultra accompanying the iPhone 18 Pro models this year, sales are expected to be through the roof. And if the iPhone 18 Pro Max does feature an exclusive variable aperture, then that’s even more bonus points in its favor.
One more thing remains for the iPhone

Colors like Dark Cherry are eyecatching and turn heads, but there is still a design change that needs doing, in my opinion. An evolution that Apple had originally planned for 2027, something that the company is having trouble getting ready on time.
Next year is the 20th anniversary of the iPhone, and Apple wanted to celebrate it with an iPhone 20 Pro that features a perfect edge-to-edge display with no cutouts at all. Yes, not even a punch hole, let alone a massive Dynamic Island.
Unfortunately, reports claim that this will likely not be possible by next year, so it’s something I’m going to keep holding out hope for. An iPhone with a display like that and a color option like Dark Cherry would set the industry ablaze.
