Even though they're costlier and more aggressively marketed, Apple's AirPods Max and AirPods Max 2 are starting to feel objectively less exciting and attractive than the company's Beats-branded headphones lineup.

In case you're wondering, the AirPods Max 2 are barely capable of hitting the 20-hour battery endurance mark, and although their overall audio performance is likely superior to that of the brand-new Beats 360, I don't think the real-world difference will prove substantial enough to justify a $150 or $200 premium.
No, the Beats 360 are not as expensive as you might think
At a recommended US price of $349.99, the "best-sounding Beats ever" are not only more affordable than the aforementioned AirPods Max 2 (even at a significant discount), but also the likes of Sony's state-of-the-art WH-1000XM6 or the Bose QuietComfort Ultra (2nd Gen).
That also happened to be the original list price of the non-customizable Beats Studio Pro back in 2023, mind you, and although you obviously get only one earcup and headband cushion included in your 350 bucks, the extras you need to personalize your fancy new headphones are incredibly cheap (possibly for a limited time).
Technically, a spare Beats 360 cushion kit is priced at $49.99, but somehow, Amazon is already discounting a bunch of different options by no less than 40 bucks (or 80 percent). Who needs Prime Day or Black Friday when you have such amazing... Beats 360 Launch Day sales?
