They boast high-end sound with a wide soundstage and deep bass. Furthermore, they support Apple’s Spatial Audio and dynamic head tracking, delivering an incredible and immersive listening experience the moment you hit “Play.” My biggest gripe with Apple’s headphones in general was the lack of customizable EQ, but Cupertino finally fixed that, introducing an EQ in the settings of the headphones. As long as the headphones are upgraded to the latest firmware version and your iPhone, MacBook, or iPad runs on the latest version of its OS, you should be able to tailor the sound to your preferences.

But the goodies don’t stop there! With the AirPods Max 2, you also get insanely good active noise canceling that goes toe-to-toe with Sony’s and Bose’s flagship headphones. The ANC literally mutes the world the moment you turn it on.

Because the headphones are powered by Apple’s H2 chip, they also support Conversation Awareness mode, which lowers the sound volume and the strength of the ANC when it detects that you’re talking to someone. Additionally, the chip enables Live Translation and head-gesture control features, so you can communicate with other Apple users who don’t speak English and accept or reject phone calls and Siri prompts with a nod or shake of your head.

Now, battery life is where these fall short of their competitors, offering only 20 hours of listening time per charge. But they also offer lossless audio via USB-C and get charged when plugged into your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. This not only gives you even better sound—as long as you stream from Apple Music or another service that supports lossless—but also basically makes the 20-hour battery life a non-existent issue.

Plus, you get a proper high-end design and feel thanks to their aluminum earcups and stainless steel headband, covered in silicone with a breathable mesh canopy. So, if you’re an Apple user, I think the AirPods Max 2 are a no-brainer. Act fast and save while the deal lasts!
