Last month, a Samsung Galaxy phone with the model name SM-G8850 was certified by China's TENAA regulatory agency. The traditional photos snapped by TENAA revealed that the phone will feature a dual camera setup on back. Yes, the camera is vertically mounted, which naturally calls to mind the Apple iPhone X, especially since Samsung placed the dual setup in the same corner.

Today, a video allegedly showing the same Samsung SM-G8850 was disseminated by SlashLeaks, and the 12-second clip shows both the front and back of the device. The leak also suggests that the phone would be officially called the Samsung Galaxy A9 Star.

We have to say that the vertical placement of the cameras on the Galaxy A9 Star makes sense; it allows Sammy to leave plenty of room for users to feel for the fingerprint sensor without smudging the lenses. This was an issue with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and to some extent with the Galaxy Note 8.

Thanks to the aforementioned regulatory filing, we know that the Samsung SM-G8850 carries a large, 6.3-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080 by 2220 pixels. Under the hood is an unknown 2.2GHz octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, and a 3700mAh battery. The rear dual cameras weigh in at 24MP and 16MP, while a 24MP selfie snapper is at the front. Android 8.0 Oreo comes pre-loaded.
