More details regarding the Galaxy S27 lineup have started to come out as we get closer to its expected Q1 2027 release window. Quite recently, all the expected color options of the Galaxy S27 Ultra were shared by reputable tipster Ice Universe. Now, details regarding the pricing of the upcoming Galaxy phones have surfaced, and you will both like and dislike it depending on which S27 model you are thinking of buying.
The vanilla and the Plus models of the Galaxy S26 lineup saw a price increase of $100 over their respective predecessors. The Galaxy S26 was launched at $899, whereas the S26 Plus was priced at $1,099. The upcoming successors are reported to be released at the same cost, according to tipster @phonefuturist.
In addition to sharing details about the US pricing, @phonefuturist has also mentioned a key display detail in their post. According to them, the base and Plus models will use a Samsung M14+ OLED panel. The Pro and Ultra variants will come with an M16 OLED panel, which you can also find in the outer display of the recently announced iPhone Duo.

So, if you are planning to get any of these variants, you might be able to get your hands on them at the same price as the launch price of their respective predecessors. However, the situation is a bit different if you are looking for the premium Galaxy S27 models.

Display specs of the Galaxy S27 lineup
The privacy display, which was one of the highlights of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, would remain a flagship feature, as a previous report suggests that it will only be available on the S27 Pro and S27 Ultra. The reason behind this is that only these two models' OLED panels would feature the required Flex Magic Pixel technology.
If you are not living under a rock, then you must be aware that, because of the global shortage of memory chips, the prices of almost all phones have increased in recent times. Different manufacturers are taking different steps to absorb the rising component costs.
No one's escaping RAMpocalypse
Some are lowering their profit margins, whereas others, like Samsung, are planning to cut phone production by up to 30%. Even after taking these extreme measures, manufacturers have no choice but to increase their device prices in order to remain profitable.
Google launched its latest Pixel 11 at $899, which is $100 more than the Pixel 10. Apple also increased the price of its iPhone 18 Pro phones by $100 to tackle the ongoing global memory shortage. Interestingly, Samsung has also recently announced that it is increasing the price of the entire S26 line of phones in the US, despite the phones already launching at a higher price than last year. The base S26 now costs $999 in the States, which is $100 more than its launch price.
I really can't see the ongoing memory shortage slowing down very soon. The scary fact is that JPMorgan estimates in one of its latest reports that "DRAM prices will have risen more than 400% from the start of 2024 to the end of 2026." Given all this, I really doubt the upcoming Galaxy phones will launch anywhere near the reported price.
The price of the Galaxy S27 line might change
Also, the base Galaxy S26 is already selling at $999, so its successor launching at a price below that would not make sense. I believe even the vanilla S27 will come out at a price of at least $1,000, but I really want my prediction to turn out to be wrong and the new Galaxy phones to launch at a lower price.
