OnePlus One users start receiving new CyanogenMod update
The OnePlus One, as expected, starting receiving the latest CyanogenMod update OTA on Monday. Version 05Q is based on Android 4.4.4 and brings to the handset new features such as having the SwiftKey third party virtual QWERTY available as your default keyboard (without having to install it from the Google Play Store). The update also enhances NFC connectivity and improves sound by adding audio processor MaxxAudio by Waves.

The updated OnePlus One now offers a feature called continuous focus that allows you to change the focal point of the rear camera from near to far while in the process of taking pictures. Infinity is a new focus option that improves the autofocus while taking a distance shot. In addition, there is a nice list of bugs that have been fixed and a number of new capabilities have been added. Ironically, one of the new additions is a progress bar that lets you track an FOTA update. To update your OnePlus One, head over to Settings/About/Software update.

The update comes just three days before OnePlus makes its own OxygenOS available on February 12th. The flat looking OS was originally developed as a workaround in India after Cyanogen signed an exclusive deal with handset manufacturer Micromax in the country. An Indian court originally banned the Cyanogen flavored OnePlus One in India, but the order was later temporarily reversed when the judge realized that the Micromax phones powered by Cyanogen were entry-level models as compared to the high-end OnePlus One.
