Nokia Camera updated with a slew of new features – Living Images, continuous autofocus, and more
Microsoft just pushed an update to Nokia Camera, which brings a number of new photography-centric features to the app, most of which come straight from the beta version of the app. But hold your horses, Nokia Lumia devotees! Unfortunately, most of the new features will only land on select Lumia devices - the Nokia Lumia 930, the Lumia 1520, and the Lumia Icon, to be exact. On top of it all, the latter have to be updated with the Nokia Lumia Cyan software update, which consists of Windows Phone 8.1 plus several Nokia-specific firmware updates.

Living Images is one of the exclusive features for the devices you mentioned above. You might recall that we reported about it several months ago, when it was demonstrated at Microsoft's Build 2014 conference. What Living Images does is pretty simple, yet equally impressive – whenever you open the camera app and aim your phone's camera towards something that you want to take picture of, Living Images captures a brief video right before and after you press the shutter button. Said video is then combined with the still image that you just took. The result is a so-called

Another new feature of the Nokia Camera app that is exclusive for the Lumia 930, 1520, and the Icon is the continuous autofocus. Just as its name suggests, this new functionality paves the way for faster focusing, which is always welcome.

The update for Nokia Camera also brings a number of additional features that are available for all supported devices. After the update, Lumia fans will be able to record surround sounds while taking videos. Additionally, the app scored a new camera roll, which comes with "full resolution zoom and inline playback of videos, cinemagraphs, smart sequences and Refocus images". Last, but definitely not least, comes Nokia Camera's integration with Nokia Creative Studio and Nokia Video Trimmer – these nifty apps enable you to unleash your imagination and edit your photos and videos.

Users that don't have the Lumia 930 or 1520, can download the Nokia camera beta from the store and get the living image feature.

Nokia Lumia 1020 is not included on Nokia Camera app (not the beta), so the next Nokia Lumia 1020 is around the corner.

I hope so, 1020 is so tempting even today but I wait to see what 1030 will bring to the table.
