New LG V30 teaser video promises "immersive sound"

Samsung may be making headlines these days (thanks to the announcement of its Galaxy Note 8), but LG doesn't want us to forget that it's also getting ready to announce a new high-end smartphone: the V30. Thus, the company today released yet another teaser video, this time touting the "immersive sound" that the LG V30 will apparently bring (though there are no details on exactly what that means).

A recent rumor had it that the V30 would feature Bang & Olufsen audio enhancements, so we're looking forward to seeing if that's indeed the case. As you may know, Bang & Olufsen is a Danish maker of high-end audio products, and it's already collaborating with LG. Last year's V20, for example, came with B&O headphones in the box.

Unlike its predecessors (LG V10 and V20), the V30 won't have two displays, instead sporting a near-bezel-less AMOLED screen of around 6 inches. The new smartphone will be officially unveiled on August 31, but it's likely that its design won't surprise anyone, as we've already seen plenty of renders and photos allegedly showing the device.

All LG needs to do to rise above the other smartphones is keep the V20 removable battery feature. If it does that im ready to buy

Unfortunately it looks like it has a glass back like the G6 so there won't be a removable battery. Not a huge deal though I mean who doesn't have a portable battery charger by now and with quick charge it takes no time to charge it right back up again.

"Unfortunately it looks like it has a glass back like the G6 " It NEEDS a glass back for Qi wireless charging, or at least some kind of NON-metal backing. Plastic, kevlar (Motorola), ceramic, or glass. Glass is considered more "premium" than the others, so there you go. Now you understand.

Kid only said "Unfortunately" because aBoss wanted a removable battery, but the glass+metal combo prohibits that.

Me too!!! I don't believe the Note 8 will hinder the V30 like the S8 & S8+ did the G6. The V30 is A WAAAY better contender!!! Gooooo LG!!!!

This pretty much dismisses the V30/V30+/pro mumbojumbo about the DAC difference.

Man the audio recording is already crazy on the V20. I can't wait to see how they improve it even more on the V30.

I'm looking forward to this phone. I just hope they do not screw it up. Please do not give us six versions of the phone, handicapping each in some way.

It's a beautiful phone for sure, definitely sits cozy next to the G6.

if the HIFI DAC is region specific (or any features for that matter) than I hope this phone flops.

the LG G6 regionalized phones specs was so STUPID. There's plenty of people who want quad DAC, more storage, and Qi wireless charging. Yet no LG G6 model offered all those specs.

The G6+ has 128GBs of storage, Wireless charging, and the Quad-DAC. You can get it on eBay for $600 in the US.

Did you hope the S8 flopped when it had a 6GB RAM version only available in India?

I'm not gonna buy a LG phone anymore. I feel bad when it's price drop fast ...

You won't buy it because the price dropped? What?

"I'm not gonna buy a LG phone anymore. I feel bad when it's price drop fast .." Then wait until the prices drop and buy. :)

Well if all these leaks are true I'm getting V30. Just hoping that software won't disappoint. I'm not a big fan of LG UI

Very interested in the V30. Pixel XL 2 will be too pricey and every LG flagship goes down in price after a few months. Note 8 is too expensive and Samsung phones are overrated. I hate my S7

I will wait a few months to make sure no main problems with the phone, I've bought an lg phone before (nexus 4) and the sound leakage was a big problem. I'm really looking forward to buying this phone.

Absolutely love love love my G6 with only dual stereo speakers and larger storage internally keeping it from being a perfect smartphone. For me if the G6 had those as well as a slightly larger battery and display it would be my perfect smartphone and if this means what I think it means then the V30 could very well be the perfect smartphone we have all been waiting for (unless you want an S-Pen then we'll this isn't the Droid your looking for).
