Is this the back of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2?

Yesterday, we told you that Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun might have been referring to the unannounced Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 when he said that a new Note device would be unveiled on June 29th. An image of what is alleged to be the back of the Redmi Note 2 was tweeted today by @leaksfly. Why the photo of the phone's back cover looks very similar to a picture of the Redmi Note 2 that we showed you last month, today's leak includes a fingerprint scanner that appears to have been added under the LED flash on the back of the unit.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch screen with resolution of 1080 x 1920. A 64-bit MediaTek MT6795 SoC is under the hood featuring a true octa-core CPU and the PowerVR G6200 GPU. A 13MP camera adorns the back of the phone while a 5MP camera graces the front of the unit. A 3000mAh battery powers the device, which will come with Android 5.0.2 or Android 5.1 pre-installed.

Things like pricing and availability will have to wait for the phone to be officially announced on the 29th of the month. There have been a number of leaks purporting to show the back cover of the phone, including one from all the way back in October.
