HTC U11 expected to receive Android 8.0 Oreo as early as November

When Google launched Android 8.0 Oreo back in August, it also listed some of the smartphones and companies that will receive updates in the following months. HTC was mentioned in Google's announcement, although the search giant did not specify which smartphones will be updated and when.

The only thing certain is the U11 will be the first HTC smartphone to receive the Android 8.0 Oreo update. Even though initial reports pointed that such an update will be rolled out before 2018 begins, we managed to narrow it down to a shorter timeframe.

According to HTC leaker LlabTooFeR, the HTC U11 Android Oreo update is about to reach final stages of the development, so chances are the Taiwanese company will release it in November or early December.

In the meantime, HTC is gearing up for an important launch event that will take place on November 2. The company is expected to unveil its next flagship smartphone, the HTC U11+, which will probably be available for purchase by the end of the year.
