Fully assembled chassis said to be of the new iPhone leaks, flaunts slender profile next to the 4S

Fully assembled chassis said to be of the new iPhone leaks, flaunts slender profile next to the 4S
Pictures of a claimed assembled sixth generation iPhone are not seen often, although we've had numerous component leaks so far that show both the front and back of the device.

The repair shop that leaked some of the most convincing components before, now leaked a fully assembled body, sans the camera module inserted. The chassis has also been sized up with the iPhone 4S, showing how much thinner it is than Apple's current phone crop, made possible by the use of in-cell touch display, made by Japan Display Co. (joint venture of Toshiba, Hitachi and Sony), as well as LG and possibly Sharp, which had yield issues until recently.

The new dock connector and the audio jack moved to the bottom of the device are also visible, as are those perforated openings at the bottom, possible for the speaker(s) grill.

Nice. But the software is outdated. Same as before. is the aspect ratio 16:9?

Yes. Some rumors say that it is 16:9... or "almost"

ist almost for 16:9 it would need to be wider, all they did was stretch it

I have never had an issue with my VZW GNex freezing...all the while my wife has taken her criphone back to the Apple store twice since last December for issues...Apple makes an outdated, inferior product when compared to Android flagships...

Anyone with a basic understanding of technology and innovation is laughing at you! The facts are the facts. Apple is inferior, plain and simple.

Ok, we get it. Apple iPhone 5 is a longer iPhone 4S. C'mon! Nokia and Motorola have unleashed their beasts, give them space.

There is good reason why design shouldn't be changed much, just facelifted. But most people don't understand Apple's relatioship with consumers.

That is all right, but the problem here seems that its looking disproportionate. Its... ODD ?

I agree. It's odd, because it seems Apple was under great pressure with screen size. They chose 16:9 ratio instead of 3:2 because adding 176 pixels on one dimension is optimal for keeping the same width and pixel denisty as well, and it corresponds to exactly one more row of icons. So, this is the most elegant solution they could implement. Every other solution is far too compromising for their strict systems. It would be most elegant that they did not change screen size at all, but its' obviously a pressure from market. Now, this minor shange in size and format will appear truly revolutional for Apple - it will be the first time since iPhone has released, and this will be enough for it to become the fastest selling product of all time.

i dont know about that, it might get a few people to upgrade and all and some new adopters but fastest selling of all time might be stretching it(no pun intended)

"Now, this minor shange in size and format will appear truly revolutional for Apple - it will be the first time since iPhone has released, and this will be enough for it to become the fastest selling product of all time." If a minor change in size and format appears revolutionary for Apple, and if this will be enough for it to become the fastest selling product of all time, then i m glad that i am amongst the more evolved humans who would know better!

I didn't mean that Apple sees it revolutionary (although they might show this attitude at the presentation) nor that it would actually be revolutionary. I meant that it would be revolutionary in Apple iPhone's appearance since it will be the first time since iPhone's introduction. Maybe it's not meant to mean that, but it's not coincidence that iPhone's deign is labelled "iconic". Icons were images of middle ages that have always looked the same, and they were sacred. They haven't been seen as images, but as a divine presence in sacral speace. Changing the appearance of an icon was blasphemy, so it's kinda indicative for the symbolic position of iPhone in our society today.
