In case you're wondering, this 11-inch device first got $50 cheaper a couple of weeks ago, but this rare discount is somehow still available today. So, if you missed out before, know that it's not too late to save.
Like my colleague Peter said in our iPad (A16) review, this model has some obvious drawbacks compared to the pricier iPad Air and Pro series. And yet, it's significantly more powerful than most budget Android tablets, giving you plenty of potential for everyday tasks. You can also multitask with it, though it probably can't handle extremely demanding work-related apps, so keep that in mind.
When it comes to the display, the "base" iPad doesn't win any trophies. It has a Liquid Retina screen (which is non-laminated, by the way), with a refresh rate of just 60Hz. This may sound outdated in 2026, and I hear you, but the truth is Apple's LCD panels deliver reasonably rich colors, so I wouldn't say the display should be a dealbreaker.
Ultimately, this Apple tablet may not be in the same league as the iPad Pro, but its affordable asking price and great overall value make it an excellent fit for users on a budget. If you're tempted, this is your chance to save $50 at Amazon, but keep in mind that Amazon may soon end this deal.
