Eventual Galaxy J7 (2017) design revealed in case maker renders
Samsung is betting big on its midrange A- and entry level J-series this year, as it tries to stave off the Chinese makers' competition in these price segments. Judging from the freshly released A-line, it is certainly succeeding to differentiate them from the pack, as even the lowly A3 (2017) comes with a waterproof premium glass chassis, fine cameras and prolonged battery life.

The success of this strategy will be determined by the sales of the J-series, however, as these are usually priced withing the range of Vivo, Huawei, or Xiaomi's offferings, so Samsung must really stand out to woo their users back. If a leaked case maker render of the Galaxy J (2017) is any indication, Samsung won't leave its entry level phones to chance this year. The phone certainly looks nice, and even has some perks borrowed from its more expensive siblings, like fast charging. Looking around the sides, we notice a microUSB port, 3.5mm audio jack, and two mics for noise-cancellation.

According to leaked benchmaks, the Galaxy J7 (2017) model will sport a 5.5" 1080p display, octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor, 2 GB of RAM, a 13MP camera, a 5MP selfie snapper, and a 3,000 mAh battery. The back is allegedly removable, so the J line might be the only one left with battery-swapping abilities, which means it will likely be a plastic endeavor, and fit the needs of those who clamor for removable batteries in their smartphones. Needless to say, the phones should ship with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Check out the leaked Galaxy J images, and tell us what you think about the potential design.
