Best Buy slashes price of third-generation Apple iPad by 30%; Walmart has the Apple iPad mini for $299
If you're in the market for an Apple iPad, now is the time to buy one. Both Best Buy and Walmart have taken an ax to their respective pricing, perhaps clearing up inventory before new versions of the slate are introduced. At Best Buy, the third generation Apple iPad is on sale with the 64GB model priced at $545.99 for a whopping $234 discount. This is the model that includes both Wi-Fi and 4G LTE connectivity via AT&T. The 16GB variant of the slate is on sale for $405.99 giving you a price break of $174. Shipping is free and Best Buy says that quantities are limited.

Meanwhile, Walmart is running a sale of its own for the Apple iPad mini. A 16GB model with Wi-Fi connectivity only is priced at just $299 for a $30 savings. To get that price, you have to make the purchase inside the store.

New versions of both the full-sized 9.7 inch Apple iPad and the 7.9 inch Apple iPad mini could launch by this summer. The fifth generation of the Apple iPad is supposed to bring a slimmer footprint with a thinner bezel while a new iPad mini should bring a Retina display.
