BLU Grand XL spotted ahead of official unveil

We've recently reported about a new budget-friendly BLU smartphone that was recently granted FCC's approval, the BLU Studio J2. However, this doesn't seem to be the only handset the US-headquartered company is likely to launch in the next couple of weeks.

An unannounced BLU smartphone has been spotted at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) today, which could be the sequel to the Grand X, a mid-range handset launched on the market back in January.

There's not much information filed at FCC, but since this might be the sequel to the BLU Grand X, we believe it should pack slightly better specs.

The BLU Grand X has a 5.0-inch display with HD (720p) resolution and packs a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor, coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB of expandable storage.

The rest of the specs are entirely unimpressive, as the Grand X includes a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, along with a secondary 5-megapixel camera on the front. It's also worth mentioning the BLU Grand X ships with Android 6.0 Marshmallow on board, but we're hoping the sequel will run a much newer version of the OS.
