Android Wear 2.0 and LG's new watches could be unveiled a day earlier on February 8th?

According to a tweet sent out today by reliable tipster Evan Blass, Android Wear 2.0 and the first two new timepieces to come with it installed, will be unveiled one day earlier than expected. That means that the LG Watch Style and the LG Watch Sport will be introduced on February 8th instead of the February 9th date previously revealed by Blass. The most recent buzz around the water cooler has the LG Watch Style priced at $249 with the LG Watch Sport priced at $349. The latter model features LTE and NFC connectivity, and GPS support.

It is unknown whether the February 10th launch date is also moved up a day. Blass didn't mention anything about that, so for now let's assume that the watches will go on sale next Friday. That would also be the date to expect Android Wear 2.0 to start rolling out.

Both of the LG smartwatches work with iOS and Android and feature deep Google Assistant integration. The Watch Sport not only allows you to make and take calls without pairing to your handset, it will use the same number employed by your phone. The more expensive of the two smartwatches comes with a heart rate monitor and has an IP68 certification rating compared to the IP67 rating on the Watch Style. Either watch will be okay in the rain, the shower, and while washing dishes.
